About me and my practice
I am a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist with fifteen years experience, but I have worked with people who are troubled by lifes' difficulties for over 30 years
I specialise in working with #relationship problems, stress, abuse (past and present) loss, low self self esteem, and work issues.
However sometimes it is hard to pinpoint a specific reason for feelings of #anxiety or despair so it can be helpful to explore what is at the root of your concerns.
I am mostly working Online now as this proved very successful during lockdown, offering much more flexibility re times/days
Experience
I worked for many years in Social Care as a Practioner, then as a Manager.Thus I have extensive experience in working with people (individuals and couples) with relationship problems as well as those with Mental Heath issues specially anxiety and depression.
I offer short term counselling as well as longer term therapeutic work.
The main rationale informing my therapeutic practice lies in helping people understand their motivations.
In childhood we all develop our own individual ways of seeing the world. These emerge from our psychological birth order, family atmosphere/ values, and the tone of the parental relationship. Such factors influence the unique way in which we each perceive and interpret our experiences. Through this process, we learn that it is not the experience that matters, but our uniquely individual understanding of that experience. This process helps us to understand and gain insight into the fact that we tend to repeat patterns of thought and behaviour learnt in childhood, which are often not helpful in adult relationships. Thus we can learn to develop new more effective strategies for coping with problems.

Initial Consultation
Initially we can discuss how we might work together exploring your hopes and expectations of the counselling process. This will give you the opportunity to decide if I am the right counsellor for you, as research suggests that the quality of our relationship is a key factor in the outcome of any counselling or psychotherapy.
Fees
My fees based on an hours session are:
£40 for individuals and £60 for couples

I can be very flexible about this as I'm working Online
however my latest session is 6pm
